Hammer Drills
We carry hammer drills from reputable companies like Milwaukee®, Makita® and Hilti®. These drills utilize a hammering and rotational action to drills holes in concrete, brick or rock with the right bit. Hammer drilling creates a hole with rough surface edges which is required for post installed epoxy anchors in concrete. If you’re working in a controlled environment where dust is an issue, we have hammer drill models with a HEPA dust extractor. If you’re working on the side of a rock face setting anchors get a cordless hammer drills such as the Makita HRH01ZX2 18V X2 LXT 1” Rotary Hammer drill which delivers the performance of a corded hammer drill. There are multiple things to consider when picking your hammer drill such as size and frequency of holes drilled, power, bit size, blows per minute (BPM) and torque. A good rule of thumb is to select a drill that is rated to drill a hole 50% over the size of your most frequently drilled diameter. For example, if you most frequently drill holes in a diameter of ½” you should select a drill capable of drilling a 1” hole in concrete. Don’t forget your Rebar eater bits when drilling through concrete. We carry a full line of Rebar Eaters by Relton.
