Self-Drilling Screws

Self-drilling screws have a spear like point combined with a cutting drill point to cut through soft steel or similar material without having to drill a pilot hole. The screws are numbered 1 thru 5, the bigger the number the thicker metal it will drill thru. Self-drillers are best for attaching materials to aluminum or sheet metal.  These are often referred to as “Tek” screws on job sites.
